Tektronix releases software and
fi
rmware updates for products to add new features
and to
fi
x product problems. You can
fi
nd the latest
fi
rmware for your product at
the Tektronix Web site (www.tek.com/downloads).
Although you do not need to upgrade the
fi
rmware as part of an Option DPW
upgrade, we recommended that you verify your instrument has the latest
fi
rmware
installed when performing upgrades. Proceed as follows:
Determine if a
fi
rmware upgrade is needed
Before you begin the upgrade, perform the following steps to determine if the
fi
rmware on your instrument should be upgraded and to backup your user
fi
les.
CAUTION.
The
fi
rmware upgrade process replaces all installed user
fi
les with the
factory default
fi
les. To prevent the loss of your user
fi
les, including custom test
signals, logo and ID text overlays, and saved presets, be sure to backup all of your
user data before you perform the upgrade. The following procedure includes
instructions for backing up your user data.
1.
Power on the instrument.
2.
Verify the current
fi
rmware version installed on the instrument:
a.
Press the
SYSTEM
button to access the SYSTEM menu.
b.
Press the up (
▲
) or down (
▼
) arrow button to select
SYSTEM :
VERSION INFO (F/W)
.
c.
In the second line of the display, note the
fi
rmware version number of
the instrument.
