Calibration— Type 1L20
i. A pply a —50 dBm 350 MHz signal from the signal
generator to the BANDS 2r5 RF INPUT connector and change
the RF INPUTS switch to BANDS 2-5.
j. Set the RF CENTER FREQ dial to 350 MHz.
k. Set the MIXER PEAKING CONTROL for a maximum
signal.

. Set the Analyzer G A IN control for a 5 centimeter
display.
m. Turn the RF CENTER FREQ control from 300 MHz to
400 MHz and set at the frequency giving the highest am pli
tude signal.
n. Set the Analyzer G A IN control for a 6 centimeter
signal display.
o. Set the 1 dB and 2 dB IF ATTEN switches to On and
note the display size. Return the IF ATTEN switches to OFF.
p. Tune the RF CENTER FREQ from 300 MHz to 400 MHz
and check that the signal display does not drop below the
display size noted in step o.
16. Check IF Attenuator Accuracy
a. Set up the eguipment as shown in Fig. 6-20.
b. Preset the controls of the Spectrum Analyzer as follows:

c. Set the generator for a —70 dBm 200 MHz signal.
d. Set the Spectrum Analyzer G A IN control so that the
200 MHz signal is exactly 6 centimeters.
e. Switch the 1 dB IF ATTEN switch On (up) and adjust
the Attenuator control o f the generator so that the 200 MHz
display is exactly 6 centimeters high. The generator Attenu
ator control should read —69 dBm ± 0 .1 dBm.
f. Switch the 1 dB IF ATTEN switch to OFF.
g. Check the rest o f the IF ATTEN steps as directed in
Table 6-3.
