Astra-10 Ver.3
Light and Sound Alerter
Operation Manual
10-3_v3_10_en
The present operation manual is intended for studying operation
principle, running conditions and maintenance of light and sound
alerter Astra-10 ver.3
(hereinafter “alerter”) (Figure 1).
The manufacturer reserves the right to make alteration regarding
refinement of the product without prior notification. All changes will
be imported into new edition of the operation manual.
1 Function
1.1
The alerter is intended for light and sound alerting about
current status of an object equipped with a control panel of a
fire/intrusion detection and alarming system.
1.2
The alerter is designed for continuous 24-hours operation.
1.3
Power supply of the alerter is performed by 12V
3
2
DC.
1.4
The alerter generates 4 types of alerting signals:
–
LED indicators are ON;
–
LED indicators are OFF;
–
Piezoelectric acoustic emiter is ON;
–
Piezoelectric acoustic emiter is OFF;
by means of voltage supply through control panel output relay
contacts or through open collector outputs.
1.5
The alerter is not considered to be a source of interference as
regards similar devices, alerters of other types and purposes, as
well as regards domestic radio equipment.

5 Installation and Pre-Starting Procedures
5.1
Works on installation, mounting, maintenance and operation
of the alerter should be performed by qualified persons only.
5.2
After transportation in conditions differing from those of op-
eration keep the alerter packed under supposed operation condi-
tions for at least 4 hours.
5.3
Installation Place
- Installation on a wall surface is allowed
;
- Installation place should
avoid
exposure to sunlight
;
- Inside permanent structures the preferable places of installation
are those well viewed from outside;
5.4
Installation Procedure:
5.4.1
Remove the cover by turning it counterclockwise with
respect to the base;
5.4.2
Make marking on installation surface by applying the
base;
5.4.3
Lead wires from power supply source through the wire
insertion holes on the base (see Figure 1); Squeeze an additional
wire insertion hole on the base if necessary.
5.4.4
Fix
alerter’s base on the wall;
5.4.5
Connect power supply source
’s wires to the appropriate
screw terminals in accordance with selected connection diagram
(see Figure 2):
