Chapter 2

The Grand Tour

This chapter identifies the various components of your computer. Become
familiar with each component before you operate the computer.

Front with the display closed

Shows the computer’s front with its display panel in the closed position.

Front of the computer with display closed

Infrared port

This infrared port is compatible with Infrared Data
Association (IrDA 1.1) standards. It enables cableless
4 Mbps, 1.15 Mbps, 115.2 kbps, 57.6 kbps, 38.4 kbps,
19.2 kbps or 9.6 kbps data transfer with IrDA 1.1
compatible external devices.

Microphone
jack

A 3.5 mm mini microphone jack enables connection of
a three-conductor mini jack for monaural microphone
input.

Headphone
jack

This jack lets you connect digital speakers or a stereo
headphone (16 ohm minimum). When you connect a
digital speaker or headphones, the internal speaker is
automatically disabled.
