Chapter 2: Installing the DVB-PC TV device
Hardware installation
To install your TechniSat PC product please refer to the quick install guide which is part of
your TechniSat PC product package content.
Chapter 3: Installing the driver and software components
Summary
In this chapter the installation of SkyStar USB HD is described for the operating system Windows
7 Ultimate x86 as an example. The installation for the other operating systems supported by the
product is similar.
Install the driver
Please use the update description if you already installed a prior version of the driver/software
release for the TechniSat DVB-PC TV Stars devices.
The installation of PCI, PCIexpress and USB devices distinguishes in finding new hardware only.
The PCI and PCIexpress cards will be found as new PCI / PCI express hardware and the USB boxes
will be found as new USB hardware.
If you installed multiple DVB-PC TV Stars devices to your system, the “Found New Hardware Wi-
zard” will prompt for each device. You have to process the driver installation for each device. After
the last device driver is installed, you can start the software installation.
For the installation of the device drivers and the software package for your product you will need
to have administrator privileges. Please ensure that your user account type is set to “Administra-
tor” within “User Accounts”.
You can either install the drivers before starting the installation of the software or let the device
drivers be installed using the automatic software installer. We recommend the use the automatic
driver installation for inexperienced users.
Windows 7 will search for drivers automatically. If you insert the installation disc Windows 7 will
find the device driver and install the driver for your TechniSat device.
