6.2.1 Access the Modem Operating System Using SSH

Connect H3(Ethernet cable) or H4(USB cable) to computer
Notes: Connect H4 to computer needs to install driver to enable USB – Ethernet Adapter
connection. User can install the driver from the windows update.
a. Plug in H4 to computer
b. Open “Settings” on Windows 10 and click “Update & Security”
c. Click “Windows Update” and click “Check for updates”
d. Click the “Views optional updates” option
e. Expand the “Driver updates” category and tick “USB Ethernet/RNDIS Gadget”
f. Click “Download and install” button.

Turn off any other connection if any, etc WIFI connection if the unable to reach the LAN
or Ethernet connection in the PC.

After a short while the Ethernet connection will appear in the system task bar as shown.

Next use any of the software that supports SSH, here is an example using ‘Putty’. The
default gateway of the modem is 192.168.1.1 port 22.
