4.2 BASIC OPERATION OF THE EQUIPMENT – INC. MOUNTING

PLATE ASSEMBLY

The basic operation of the machine follows the routine:

1. Lifting the machine from its packing case.

2. Checking the machine for completeness and condition.

3. Removal of the drive ring assembly from the mounting plate assembly

4. Secure either 3 or 4 base clamp blocks to the mounting assembly, pending application.

5. Lifting and positioning the Mounting plate assembly on the flange to be machined.

6. Securing the machine with the fast mounting plates.

7. Centralising the machine and check whether parallel with the flange.

8. Fitting the drive assembly to the mounting plate assembly, pending application.

9. Setting the tool for facing and grooving.

10. Performing the machining operation.

11. Removal of the machine on completion from the mounting plate assembly.

12. Removal of the mounting plate assembly and preservation and packing.
