This scale operates on 4 “AA” batteries (not included). Always replace all
batteries at the same time; do not combine old and new batteries.

Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the scale by sliding the
cover in the direction of the “open” arrow and remove cover.
3.
Place the batteries into the battery compartment as indicated by the polarity
symbols marked in the compartment.
4.
Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks shut.

Replace the batteries if “
LO
” appears on the display, or the readings grow
dim or irregular.

Add the ingredient to be weighed. The weight of the ingredient alone will
display.

The weight of additional ingredients may be tared out as well. For example, if a
recipe calls for ½ lb rice and ½ lb beans, place the rice into the bowl. Once the
correct amount of rice is weighed, press the “
TARE
” button until the display is
reset to zero. Add the ½ lbs of beans. Both ingredients have been accurately
weighed in the same bowl.

When weights have been tared out, the display will show a negative number
when the items are removed from the scale. To reset the scale back to zero for a
new measurement, press the “
TARE
” button until the display resets to zero.
You may wish to weigh ingredients in the included bowl or other container.
In this case, you will need to tare, or offset, the weight of the bowl so that
only the weight of the ingredients is displayed.

Choose a container that will safely balance on the platform without
tipping or falling. Do not use a heavy container, as this might reduce the
maximum capacity of the scale.

While the scale is off, place the empty container on the scale platform.
Turn the scale on. The display will show “
8888
” then “
0.0
”. The weight of
the container has been zeroed out.

Clean exposed parts with a soft, slightly damp cloth. To remove stains, use
a mild soap. Never use detergents, excess water, treated cloths, harsh
cleaning agents, or sprays.

Do not tamper with the scale's internal components. Doing so will
invalidate the warranty on this unit and may cause damage. The scale
contains no user-serviceable parts

Although your scale is designed to be maintenance-free, it contains
sensitive electronic parts. Avoid rough treatment. Treat it with care to
ensure the best performance.
4.
This scale is intended for home/consumer use only. It is not intended for
commercial or medical use.
5.
This scale is designed to read weights up to 4.4 lbs/2 kgs.
To prevent
damage, do not place more than 4.4 lbs/2 kgs on it.
6.
Do not store scale where you store cleaning chemicals. The vapors from
some household products may affect the electronic components of your
scale. Do not store scale on its side.
7.
This scale is an extremely sensitive weighing device. In order to prevent run
down of the battery, do not store anything on the scale.
8.
Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Batteries may explode or leak. Remove
the
if the scale will not be used for a long period of time.

Overload Warning: Should “
EE
” appear on the display during a weighing,
this indicates that the maximum weighing capacity of the scale has been
exceeded. Remove the weight immediately; otherwise, permanent
damage could occur.

Place the scale on a hard, level surface.
2.
Press the “
ON/OFF
” button to turn the scale on. The display first shows
“
8888
”, then “
0.0
” when it is ready for use. If the display does not show
“
0.0
”, press the “
TARE
” button to reset (tare) the scale to zero.
3.
Your scale is set at the factory to weigh in ounces. To switch to grams,
move the switch on the bottom of the scale to “
g
”. The display will
change to grams.
4.
Place the item to be weighed on the center of the platform. The weight
will display. As you add weight, the weight displayed increases.
5.
The scale will turn off automatically after 1½ minutes of non-use. Press
the “
ON/OFF
” button to turn the scale off manually.
