INSTRUCTIONS AND PRECAUTIONS AT WORK
LOADING INSTRUCTIONS
- Visually inspect the mixing system before each load.
- Never overload the mixer. The mixing capacity is determined by the density of the
product. An overloaded mixer will not mix properly, and will demand more tractor
power, so it could damage the mixer.
- Graduate the retainers to adjust the length of the cut. Always start with a retainer,
positioned all to the outside. Then position it in the first hole and increase if necessary
till the cut length is correct.
When adding ingredients to the mix follow this order:
- First load the most fibrous ingredients, such as hay, with the tractor's power take-off
at approximately 540 rpm, adding materials evenly to end the most fragile towards the
end of the load.
- The concentrated ingredients and the driest ingredients will be added towards the
middle of the mixture.
- Continue with the silage load of chopped grass and/or other high humidity products.
- Finally add molasses, animal fats and/or other liquid supplements.
- Prolong the mixing for several minutes to homogenize the mixture after adding the last
ingredient. This time will depend on the particular conditions of each product.
- Inspect the mixing operation only from the observation platform of the machine. For
security, no more than one person will be allowed to join the platform at the same time.
- If you are forced to make a stop of the mixer when loaded, resume mixing as
progressively as possible, to avoid excessive stress. Stress may cause the breakage of
some parts.
- Previous the loading of bales, round or square, remove all types of wrappers, ropes
and wires.
