3. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
3.1 Sensing edge Shapes and Sizes
Tapeswitch edge sensors are available in a large range of profiles colors and lengths to accommodate most
common applications. See specifications for profile (section 9) dimensions, maximum length and force travel
relationship.
3.2 Inactive Zone
All standard safety edge sensors have an inactive region at each edge. Please see specific edge sensor profile
for actual inactive diminution in the specification’s sections (9) of this manual.
3.3 Lead Options
Tapeswitch Edge sensors have a number of lead options, depending on the application. Cable exit options are
also available, so as to facilitate a “daisy chain” connection (or series connection) between them. Please see

3.4 Mounting Channel Options
Most edge sensors are available with multiple options of mounting channels and channel materials based on
design application. See individual edge specification at
www.tapeswitch.com
(section 9 in this document) as to
the options available.

It is the responsibility of the user to evaluate and determine the proper edge sensor profile and dimensions based
on the application in question.
Tapeswitch cannot guarantee suitability of a particular edge, for a machine or
application with unique specifications that was not designed by Tapeswitch. The unique parameters of the control
system into which the sensing edge(s) are integrated must be validated by the user. Tapeswitch also takes over
