2. PACKAGING, HANDLING, TRANSPORTATION, AND STORAGE
2.1 Packaging, Unpacking, and Handling
Depending on the size and weight, safety edges are packaged either in a "U" formed cardboard container or
wooden frame container with a triple-wall cardboard top and bottom, or in a suitable corrugated box. Multiple
edges may be stacked in a single box. Unpacking may require more than one person. Keep the edges flat at all
times.
DO NOT ROLL, COIL OR FOLD THEM. DO NOT LIFT OR PULL edge sensor(s) BY THE CABLES.
Failure to follow these instructions could render the edge sensors unusable.
2.2 Transportation
When shipping an edge or edges, use the original or similar packaging to prevent damage. Crates can be
transported by common carrier or parcel service (size permitting). The crate should be kept flat and should not be
transported on its side or vertically for an extended period of time.
2.3 Storage
The edges sensors should be stored in a horizontal (flat) position. Do not stack or pile a heavy load on top of the
edge sensors as this could lead to switch damage and premature failure. The edge sensors should be stored in a
dry environment at a temperature of 0
°
C to 50
°
C.
