Use a pair of tweezers to loosen, but not fully remove, the connector that locks the FPC
cable to the RF board. Work the connector loose by gently lifting first the one side of the
connector then the other.
When disconnecting an FPC cable from a board, do not apply excessive pressure to the
connector. If you do, the connector could break off the board and you will have to order
and install a new connector FPC.
Conductive Foam
If TP3300 radios built prior to Serial Number LC1850xxxx (20

) are being updated to
4-Key or 16-Key models three conductive foam pads may be fitted to the RF PCBoard if
desired.
Full details on the production improvements in fitting the conductive foam pads are listed in
TN-2838b-AN but this modification is not mandatory - it provides minor improvements to
transmit noise and to receive sensitivity when menu keys are pressed during a call.
Part Number T03-00354-BAAA contains 100 conductive foam pads. They are not fitted or
required on the 0-Key models and therefore if converting from a 0-Key to a 4-Key or 16-Key
model the three foam pads may be fitted as described below.
To fit the conductive foam pads:
Using a pair of tweezers place the foam pads, adhesive side down to the three grounding pads
shown below marked in red:
