Wireless

The COMET has a built-in wireless card. To connect to
your server via the wireless interface, you will need to
have an 802.11x wireless access point or wireless router
that is configured for your Sun Ray network.

1.

Make sure the Ethernet port is not connected to the net-
work.

2.

Turn on the COMET and make sure the radio is turned on.  

NOTE:

Pressing the Wireless Button/LED turns the radio

on/off

When wireless connections have been enabled, the
COMET will first search for an Ethernet connection for
10 seconds before switching over to wireless. (Which is
why Ethernet cables need to be removed before trying to
connect to a server using wireless.)

NOTE:

The quality and reliability of the wireless

router/access point plays a major role in the wireless per-
formance of COMET. Older off-the-shelf wireless routers
tend to perform less reliably when running graphics-inten-
sive programs via wireless. If you have questions regarding
wireless routers, consult your COMET representative.
