6. Assembly / disassembly
Important! The pump must not run dry. Otherwise, the possibility of damage to the device cannot be ruled out!
The numbers specified in the following text refer to figures I and II at the end of the operating manual.
Unpack all components carefully.
Affix the ground spike (2) to the solar collector's frame side (9). We recommend securing the ground
spike to the long sides of the collector for stability reasons.
Connect the solar collector (9) to the control housing's supply cable (4).
Completely immerse the pump (1) in your pond. If the riser (3) does not rise high enough above the water
surface, use a stone or a block to raise the pump.
(SPS 250/6) Place the LED ring on the riser and select the suitable fountain attachment (3).
(SPS 800/12) Select a suitable fountain attachment (3) and connect the LED emitter (8) to the control housing
(4). To do this, use the right port that is labelled with "LED".
Then connect the pump cable to the control housing. To do this, use the middle port on the control housing,
which is labelled with "Pump".
Press the ground spike with the collector installed on it into a soft substrate such as grass.
Point the collector surface to the south and ensure that the surface is not in the shadows.
The pump is now ready for operation and can be used.
The water temperature of the pumped liquid must not exceed 40 °C.
The pump must be protected from freezing.
Never connect the pump to a mains plug, it is only designed for 6 V / 12 DC battery operation.
In order to avoid unnecessary soiling, position the pump in your pond above the sludge deposits, and attach
so that it is solid and level (stone slab)!
The flow rate can be regulated on the SPS 800/12 pump. The required flow rate can be adjusted by rotating
the gate valve in the suction opening on the front of the pump as required.
7. Placing in service
Comply with the safety measures!
Never short circuit the battery that is integrated into both poles in the control
housing! The device's connection cables must not be damaged!
The batteries must be completely charged before switching on the device.
In addition, the solar-powered device must be charged in direct sunlight for a minimum of 8 hours after
installation. Neither the pump nor the lighting unit may be switched on while the device is being charged for the
first time. Make sure that there are no shadows on the solar panel, otherwise the charging capacity will be greatly
reduced. If the device has not been operated for a long period of time, repeat the measures described above.
Testing the control device:
Press the "On" button, the "Solar operation" control lamp illuminates. Press the "Mode" button multiple times to
switch between the "Solar operation" and "Battery operation" modes. When you press the "Off" button, the control
display extinguishes.
"Charging"
After you have connected the control housing to the solar collector for the first
time and exposed this to direct sunlight, the "Charging" control display flashes. This means that the battery is now
being charged.
"Solar operation" mode
Press the "On" button, the "Solar operation" control lamp illuminates. The pump is now running in solar mode.
The excess energy is used to charge the battery.
