Installation and connection
Installation
Carefully unpack the device and store the original packaging carefully. The carton and packing material
are specially designed for this device and will be a safe container during any later transports. Set up the
device at a proper place. Please observe all notes on connection and set-up in the chapter Safety notes
(pages 10 and 11).
Connection
To use the PSD 3100 HV with all its functions and sources, first you have to make some important
connections and/or connect antennas.
The necessary connections are described below:
Do not connect the PSD 3100 HV and the other components to the power supply until all the necessary
connections have been established.
LAN
For the connection to your network (router), connect the network cable to the LAN port.
j
When using the WLAN connection, this socket must remain free!
WLAN
To connect the PSD 3100 HV to your network (router) via WLAN, connect both of the two supplied antennas
to each of the WLAN sockets.
Connection of digital source devices
At the digital inputs of the PSD 3100 HV (Digital IN) you can connect devices with electrical coax, BNC,
AES/EBU or optical fiber output.
j
The PSD 3100 HV accepts at all inputs digital stereo signals according to the S/P-DIF standard with sampling
rates from 32 kHz to 192 kHz and DSD encoded stereo signals in DSD 64 format.
Connected to a PDT 3100 HV and/or A 3000 HV
The PSD 3100 HV is designed for operation in conjunction with the PDT 3100 HV and/or A 3000 HV. For
this purpose, the PSD 3100 HV is equipped with the HLINK system interface.
If the PSD 3100 HV will be operated in conjunction with a PSD 3100 HV or/and an A 3000 HV, these inter-
faces must be connected. See also the wiring diagrams in the chapter Connection and cabling.
Connecting the two power cords
Connect both mains sockets to the mains supply when operating the PSD 3100 HV.
