Loudspeakers and headphones
Button to switch the speaker output and headphone output on/off. The LED indicates
the currently selected function by its color.
• A brief press: Switches between speakers and headphones. Stops muting.
• Outputs can be muted by means of the FM 11 only.

Tone and room correction
TONE
LOUDN Switches the tone control (TONE) and the loudness function (LOUDN) on and off.
• A brief press: Switches the tone control (bass and treble) on and off.
• A long press: Switches the Loudness function on and off.

OVS
Selection of the oversampling type OVS 1 (FIR Filter) or OVS 2 (Bezier Filter) when
playing PCM encoded music via the digital inputs (S/P-DIF, OPT or USB). If necessary,
press the button repeatedly during playback to select the oversampling type.

Tone control for compensation of room influences or unfavourable loudspeaker loca-
tions.
• When the tone controls are at centre, the frequency response is linear.
• Rotating the controls clockwise increases the bass or treble.
• Rotating the controls anti-clockwise reduces the bass or treble.
BALANCE The balance control enables you to vary the level between left and right channels, e.g.
to cope with asymmetric speaker locations.

In normal use the knobs for tone and balance are recessed into the front panel. If you
press any of the knobs, it projects from the front panel and can then easily be rotated.
In the centre position the index marker points up, and you will feel the detent engage.
When the setting is correct, push the knob back into the front panel, and it will engage
in its recessed position again.
