Cover Art
The Cover Art function provides a means of displaying a picture
which is associated with the piece of music currently playing. The
picture is normally the cover of the album which contains the track.
Several points must be observed if picture transmission to the FD
100 is to work reliably.
•
If the music is stored in the MP3, MP4 or AIFF file format, the
cover art may be embedded in the file (known as embedded
Cover Art). Many music files in the formats listed above already
contain a cover picture. Files which do not contain cover art can
have an image linked to them subsequently using a Tag
program such as ‘Mp3Tag’. It is this integration of pictures in
music files which makes it possible to display the cover art when
music is played from a network server or USB memory medium.
•
Other music file formats may not support embedded images.
However, there is a method of displaying cover art with these
formats, provided that the music is played from a network
server.
In this case the cover art is stored separately to the music files,
but in the same folder as the album.Whether your server
supports this function, and the exact way in which the pictures
must be named, depends on the type of server in use. The
instructions supplied with your server should contain this
information.
The time required to transmit the cover art varies greatly according
to the size and content of the pictures. For this reason it may well
take longer to display some images than others.
