Creating a Workspace
A workspace is a local Unix directory structure containing your configured copy of dw_ipk_dwipk_pcie.
You can create several workspaces to experiment with different design alternatives.
To create a workspace, follow the next steps:
1.
Navigate to the <installation_folder>/ipk/dw_ipk_dwipk_pcie/<version> folder, enter the
following command:
% cd <installation_folder>/ipk/dw_ipk_dwipk_pcie/<version>
2.
Start the coreConsultant GUI:
% coreConsultant . &
3.
Open a new workspace, press and hold the
Ctrl
+
N
keys.
4.
On the “Create a coreConsultant Configuration” window, enter a name for the Workspace. Click
OK
to create a workspace.
5.
Complete the Specify Configuration activity using the default parameter values. Click
Apply
in the
Specify Configuration dialog.
This creates the RTL for the default configuration and populates the product documentation (in
<workspace>/doc).

Note
After you set up the PCIe IP Prototyping Kit environment, you need to create a workspace and
configure the dw_ipk_dwipk_pcie using coreConsultant. The pre-generated FPGA images are
available in your workspace inside the syn folder.
For information on how to create a workspace, configure, synthesize, simulate, using
coreConsultant refer to the
