Chapter 3: Install DiskStation Manager
Install DSM with Synology Assistant
If your internet connection is unavailable or you are experiencing difficulties with Web Assistant, you can also
install DSM with
Synology Assistant
. Please follow the instructions below for your individual operating system.
For Windows

Find the DSM installation disc which came with your Synology DiskStation. Insert the disc into your computer.
Click
Start
. Follow the installation wizard instructions.

After being installed and launched on your computer, Synology Assistant will search within the local network
for your Synology DiskStation. The status of your DiskStation should be
Not Installed
. Select your DiskStation
from the list and click
Connect
to start the setup process.
