Usable Scan Length

The decode zone is a function of various symbol characteristics including density, print
contrast, wide-to-narrow ratio, and edge accuracy. Consider the width of the scan line at
any given distance when designing a system.

Calculating The Usable Scan Length Method

on page 2-10 describes how to calculate the

usable scan length. The scan angle is provided in

Table 4-3
