Introduction
FMT 3000 Features
The FMT 3000 is supplied as basic unit (with or without the digital I/O option) or in a Starter
Kit. Starter Kits contain the choice of external power supply (110 VAC or 220 VAC), a 2-
Megabyte SRAM PC Card (PCMCIA) memory card loaded with DOS (Datalight DOS or
Microsoft DOS), and a set of accessory items. Starter kit accessory items include a full set of
manuals (hardware reference, software reference, DOS, plus PC Card and bar code software
manuals), digital I/O hardware option, wall and desk style mounting brackets, a PC/104
VGA adapter card, RS-485 adapter module, bar code wand with holder, and a AA style
battery back-up pack.
Standard and optional features of the FMT 3000 are described in the following sections.

PC Features

486-DX2 66 MHz CPU. The CPU has an internal write-through cache and math
coprocessor to further enhance performance. Also, the CPU chipset and BIOS
incorporates power management functions to conserve power and shutdown
subsystem hardware when not in use.

Includes 1 MB of DRAM on-board standard, and is expandable to 17 MBs through
installing a 16 MB 72-pin SIMM memory module. The SIMM must be 70nSec or
faster and operate in FPM (Fast Page Mode).
