OPERATION GUIDELINES
How to use your hot plate (for one or both rings depending on model)
1. Set hot plate on a flat and level heat resistant surface.
2. Turn temperature control dial to “0”.
3. Plug the unit into the wall socket.
4. Turn control dial from “0” to any selected setting. The unit will cycle on and off to regulate
the temperature according to your selected setting.
5. The Heating Element will begin to heat immediately. DO NOT touch while in use, as the
metal surfaces will become hot.
6. When not in use, unplug cord from wall outlet and allow to cool.
NOTES:
One the SBR103, SBR203 the thermostat dial can be pressed in to make it flush with
the hot plate housing. This prevents accidental adjustment of the temperature. Press again to
bring control knob back out for adjusting.
CAUTION
DO NOT use pans that are unstable as this could cause an accident.
Use flat-bottom pans ONLY as they will insure full contact with heating plate which will
maximise heat efficiency.
Do not drop any items on the hot plate, as this will reduce the life expectancy of the product.
When the hot plate is used for the first time there will be a small amount of smoke produced do
not worry, this is perfectly normal and will stop after a short time.
Cleaning and Maintenance
1. Always unplug unit and allow to cool before cleaning.
2. Never immerse in water.
3. When cool clean hot plate with a soft, damp cloth or a non-abrasive cleaner.
4. Wipe dry.

Disposal instructions for Swan items in accordance with the WEEE directive. Appliances bearing
the symbol shown here may not be disposed of in domestic rubbish. You are required to dispose
of old electrical and electronic appliances like this separately. Please visit
www.recyclemore.co.uk, or www.recylcenow.co.uk for access to information about the recycling
of electrical items. The WEEE directive, introduced in August 2006, states that all electrical items
must be recycled, rather than taken to landfill. Please arrange to take this appliance to your local Civic Amenity
site for recycling, once it has reached the end of its life.
