OIL FILTER

• Install the oil filter

• Apply engine oil lightly to the gasket

 of oil filter before

installation.

• Apply engine oil lightly to the O-ring

• Install the O-ring

 and spring

 to the oil filter cap

Tighten the oil filter cap bolts to the specified torque.

Oil filter cap bolt: 10 N·m (1.0 kgf-m)

PISTON RING

• Install the spacer 

 

1

 into the oil ring groove first. Then, install

both side rails 

 

2

, one on each side of the spacer. The spacer

and side rails do not have a specific top or bottom when they
are new. When reassembling used parts, install them in their
original place and direction.

#

• The 1st ring and 2nd ring differ in the shape of ring face, and

the face of top ring is chrome-plated whereas that of the 2nd
ring is not. The color of the 2nd ring appears darker than that
of the top one.

Install the oil filter so that the valve 

 

A

 comes outside.

The removed O-ring must be replaced with a new one
to prevent oil leakage.

When installing the spacer, be careful not to allow its
two ends to overlap in the groove.
