Motherboard Connections

This section describes the connections on the motherboard and provides pinout definitions. 
Note that depending on how the system is configured, not all connections are required. The 

LEDs on the motherboard are also described here. A motherboard layout indicating component 
locations may be found in 

Chapter 1

. More detail can be found in the 

Motherboard Manual.

Please review the Safety Precautions in 

Appendix A

 before installing or removing components.

4.1 Power Connections

ATX Power Supply Connector

The  24-pin  power  supply  connector  (JPWR2)  meets  the ATX  SSI  EPS  12V  specification. 

You must also connect the 8-pin 12V DC power connectors (JPWR1/JPWR2/JPWR3) to the 
power supply to provide adequate power to your system.

Important: 

To provide adequate power supply to the motherboard, be sure to connect the 

24-pin ATX PWR and the 8-pin PWR connectors to the power supply. Failure to do so may 
void the manufacturer warranty on your power supply and motherboard.
