Optional Air Shrouds (Not Included)
Air shrouds concentrate airflow to maximize fan efficiency. They do not require screws to
install.
Installing the Standard Air Shrouds
•
Position the air shrouds as illustrated in the figure below, sliding the front over the edge
of the fan tray.

Checking the Server's Airflow
1.
Make sure there are no objects to obstruct airflow in and out of the server.
2. Do not operate the server without drives or drive carriers in the drive bays. Use only
recommended server parts.
3.
Make sure no wires or foreign objects obstruct airflow through the chassis. Pull all
excess cabling out of the airflow path or use shorter cables.
The control panel LEDs inform you of system status. Please refer to Chapter 1 for details on
the LEDs and the control panel buttons.
Note:
Air shrouds only may require in completed system depends on thermal requirements
for system configurations.
