SSxDSL-5 IDSL Module
2.3.5 BERT and Results
This allows for testing the physical signal, as well as performing
a BERT on a data call. On the U Interface, both near and far end
block errors can be seen. When a data call is established, a logical
results screen is present recording bit errors for the data call.

The Signal Results screen
reports physical measurements.
This screen will be present at all
times when there is an active
signal. Refer to Figure 25 for the
U Interface, and the right screen
in Figure 12 for the S/T Interface

U FEBE: Number of Far End Block Errors since the start of the
test. It indicates CRC errors were detected at the far end.
U NEBE: Number of Near End Block Errors since the start of the
test. It is reported when a CRC error is detected incoming with
respect to that interface connector.
