2.3.4.5 Dual BERT Call
This feature automatically sets up two Data-64K calls, and runs
two independent BER tests on B1 and B2. It can be used as a
quick method to qualify a basic rate line for data service. For this
test, both SPIDs must be configured to support data.

Use this procedure:
1. Confirm that the T1/E1 SIG and LP 1 SYNC LEDs are green
and that PHONE NUM 1 and PHONE NUM 2 are set in the
TEST CONFIGURATION screen.
2. Press AUTO and select DUAL BERT CALL. See Figure 22.
3. Enter the dial numbers for both B1 and B2 either via the SHIFT
and numeric keypad or via pressing F3 to access a SPEED DIAL
stored list screen. In the list press
to choose a number
and press F4 to select it and return to the DUAL BERT CALL
screen. To enter a number into the SPEED DIAL screen, see
Section 2.3.2-DIAL NUM .
4. Press F4 to start and “PLEASE WAIT TEST IN PROGRESS”
is displayed while the test set is placing both calls.
5. If both calls are successful, the BERT & RESULTS screen is
displayed providing results for both B and B2 calls. The C1
and C2 handset icons are in the off-hook position. If one of
the calls fails, “TEST FAILED” is displayed.
6. When finished, disconnect both calls by pressing ESC and
press STATUS to display the CALL STATUS screen. Press
ON-HOOK (F1) to disconnect the call on B1. Press ON-HOOK
(F3) to disconnect the call on B2. Both C1 and C2 will now be
on-hook.
