SSxDSL-5 IDSL Module

2.3.4   Other Features
The  menu  contains  AUTOMATED TESTS.  Several  automated 
tests for ISDN Basic Rate testing are available. The menu screen 
that appears depends on the configured protocol. There are two 
ways to access the automated tests menu. In the ISDN-BRI menu, 
press AUTO. The test set must be in the ISDN-BRI menu to access 
this feature. Or select it from the ISDN-BRI > OTHER FEATURES 
> AUTOMATED TESTS. The three sets of selections are:
• 

NAT’L Protocol

 

AUTO SPID DETECT: This feature allows the test set to query 
the switch for the proper SPID configuration.

 

GUESS  SPID:  This  tries  multiple  SPID  values,  based  on 
common SPID implementations, until the proper number is 
found.

 

AUTO SERVICE SCAN: This feature quickly scans the line to 
determine the services (speech, data-56, data-64, 3.1k, etc.) 
supported by the local and distant switch.

 

SELF BERT CALL: For the Self BERT test, the test set au-
tomatically sets up a self data-64k data call, answers the call 
and loops back the channel, then runs a BER test.

  DUAL  BERT  CALL: This  feature  automatically  sets  up  two 

data-64k calls, and runs two independent BER tests on B1 
and B2.

  BONDING CALL: This feature combines two 64k B-channels 

into a 128k channel for testing.
