Configure the following settings for the U interface:

MODE
Options: NT-144K (F1), LT-144K (F2), NT-LOOP (F3), LT-LOOP
(F4)
• NT-144K: Emulate the U interface side of an NT1 device and

terminates the signal. This mode should be used to emulate
the user side and run a BERT test on any combination of B
and D-channels. In 144K mode, the test pattern will be inserted
on the selected test channel.

• NT-LOOP: Emulate the U interface side of an NT1 device and

loop the received signal. In this mode, the entire 144 kbps signal
will be looped from the receive to transmit signal. NT-LOOP
mode is similar to the upper illustration in Figure 4; the only
difference is the module will loop the received signal back to
the switch.

• LT-144K: Emulate an LT device and terminate the signal. This

mode should be used to emulate the switch/network side and
run a BERT test on any combination of B and D-channels. In
144K mode, the test pattern will be inserted on the test chan-
nel selected below.

• LT-LOOP: Emulate an LT device and loop the received signal.

In this mode, the entire 144 kbps signal will be looped from
the receive to transmit signal. LT-LOOP mode is similar to the
lower illustration in Figure 4; the only difference is it loops the
received signal back toward the customer.
