Footplates

(7.21)

There are two types of footplates:
platform and divided. They can be
flipped up to facilitate getting in
and getting out of your wheelchair.

Lower Leg Length

By removing the setscrews (1), the
footrest can be adjusted to fit any
lower leg length. Remove set-
screws, set tubing with footrest in
the desired position, and reinsert
and tighten the setscrews (see the
page on torque). Make sure that the composite
plastic pad is in the proper position under the set-
screw. A minimum interval of 2.5 centimeters from
the ground should always be maintained.

Drum Brakes

(7.13)

Drum brakes permit safe and
convenient braking for an atten-
dant. They can also be set with the
aid of a locking lever (1) to prevent
rolling. This lever must snap
audibly into place. Performance of
the drum brakes is not dependent
on the air pressure inside the tires.
Your wheelchair cannot be moved
when the drum brakes are set.

CAUTION:
Drum brakes should only be adjusted by
authorized dealers.

Angle-adjustable footplate

(7.28.1)

The footplates can be flipped up
to facilitate getting in and out of
your wheelchair.

The footplates can be adjusted
within their angle of inclination,
relative to a level surface. Loosen
screws (1 to 2). Then set the foot-
plates to the desired angle. After-
wards, tighten all screws. After
adjustment, always make sure that
all screws are tightened properly
(see the page on Torque). In order
to avoid the wheelchair tipping
over, make sure that the minimum
interval of 2.5 cm between the foot
rest tubing and the ground is main-
tained (with horizontal seat).

Headrest

(7.35)

The headrest can be raised and
moved both forwards and back-
wards. To do this, simply loosen
the screw (1 or 2), adjust to the
desired position, and tighten the
screw (see the page on torque).

Casters, Caster Plates, Forks

(7.40)

The wheelchair may veer slightly to the right or left,
or the casters may wobble. This may be caused by
the following:
• Forward and/or reverse wheel motion has not

been set properly.

• The camber has not been adjusted properly.
• Caster and/or rear wheel air pressure is incorrect;

wheels do not turn smoothly.

The wheelchair will not move in a straight line if the
casters have not been properly adjusted. Casters
should always be adjusted by an authorized dealer.
The caster plates must be readjusted, and the
wheel locks must be checked any time the rear
wheel position has been altered.

Options – Casters

Caster setting

(7.42.2)

Place a set square on the front end of the
caster adapter (1) to make sure it is ad-
justed properly. The adapter should be
perpendicular to the ground. Once you
have loosened the screws (2) and moved
the adapter, you may adjust the wheels to
their optimum position by moving the
corresponding toothed segments. When
finished, make sure that all screws have
been properly tightened (see the page on
torque).
In order to ensure that both forks are set
parallel, simply count the number of visible
teeth on both sides. To do this, please
remove the cover.
After the caster fork has been set, the teeth
structure guarantees firm hold and allows
adjustment of 12° in 2° steps.
Use the smooth side on the front of the
caster fork, to check that the setting is per-
pendicular.
The patented design allows the caster fork
to be adjusted so that it is still perpendicu-
lar to the ground, even when the seat angle
is changed.
