Features of your Sunleaves Digital 4-Way Soil Meter
• Measures light intensity at nine levels
• Measures moisture at five levels
• Measures pH at 12 levels
• Measures temperatures to the nearest whole degree (ºC or ºF)
• Battery saving feature shuts unit off after four minutes of inactivity
Using your Sunleaves Digital 4-Way Soil Meter
Open the battery compartment on the back of the unit. Insert the 9V battery included with the unit
into the battery connector and replace the battery cover. A low battery indicator will display on the
LCD (F) when it’s time to replace the battery.
Remove the plastic cap from the probe before use, making sure to keep it in a safe place while you
use the meter. Replace it when finished to prevent accidental damage to the probe.
To initiate meter functioning, simply press the “ON” button. To turn the meter off, press and hold the
“C/F OFF” button for three seconds.
To measure light intensity:
1. Point the light sensor (raised plastic panel above the LCD) at the light source
2. The current light intensity will display on the LCD (A)
Light measurement is displayed at one of nine levels, as shown in the following table:
To measure pH:
1. Move the “pH/ºC/ ” switch on the back of the unit to “pH” position so LCD (B) illuminates
2.
Carefully
push the probe vertically into the soil, approximately 4-5” deep (Do not push the probe too
close to the base of the plant, as this may damage the plant’s root system)
3. The pH value of the tested soil will be displayed on the LCD (C)
A display of “Lo” or “HH” indicates the value is too low or too high to be measured. Please note that it may
take over three minutes for the meter to generate a measurement. Use the following table to interpret the
displayed reading:
