The Sievers M500e TOC Analyzer is calibrated at the factory and should require
recalibration only once per year. When replacing items that affect analysis, such as the
UV lamp or pump heads, perform a verification of the calibration. Only re-calibrate if
verification indicates that a new calibration is necessary.
Calibration and other system protocols use Sievers Standards in vials sampled via the
Analyzer’s Integrated Online Sampling (iOS) System. The Analyzer facilitates the
calibration and verification process by handling the necessary calculations internally. The
user will have the opportunity to accept or reject the calibration during the procedure.
Calibrate the Sievers M500e TOC Analyzer using one of two methods: single-point
calibration at 1.5 ppm; or multi-point calibration at 500 ppb, 1.0 ppm, and 1.5 ppm. SUEZ
recommends single-point calibration for most applications. Multi-point calibration is
available as an alternative procedure for customers.A Single-Point Calibration requires
approximately one hour to complete and the Multi-Point Calibration requires
approximately two hours.
For the Sievers M500e TOC Analyzer, a Low Level TOC Single Point Calibration is
available in addition to the normal TOC single point calibration. For semiconductor users,
this protocol allows Analyzer calibration closer to semiconductor operating levels:

The TOC standard is 250 ppb
•
The precision allowed for the 250 ppb standard is ≤ 5%
The measured TOC of the Rw Blank must be 40 ppb or less
NOTE:
Only a single-point calibration or a multi-point calibration
needs to be performed. Do not perform both types of calibration—
only the most recent calibration will be stored.
If the Analyzer is equipped with a sample inlet block, install an
iOS
to calibrate and verify
the Analyzer.
