5.3 Turning the Device On
The device FLOSTEADY Arthroscopy Pump can be operated connected to the
mains power supply or with the integrated recharged battery pack .
1. Press the Stand - by/ON key (see Fig. 5-1 "Device
Front"

2. The device now initializes and then runs the device check.
3. The touch panel

depicts consecutively the following:
Company logo
Device check
and after the successful completion of the device check
Device OK
When activating the device a tube set should not be inserted.
5.3.1 Device Setup
Function fields to select a joint are depicted on the display after the successful
completion of the device check when
Device OK is depicted.
Mains power supply operation • Ascending bars in the battery symbol (Fig. 5-1 "Device Front", (7) ) indicate that
the battery is charging.
• Five bars in the battery symbol indicate that the battery is fully charged.
Battery operation • When operating the device connected to the battery, LED (Fig. 5-1 "Device
Front", (18) ) is not lit.
• The charge status of the battery is indicated by the corresponding number of
bars in the battery symbol (Fig. 5-1 "Device Front",
(7)
) on the touch panel.
1. Press the respective function field on the touch panel to select the corre-
sponding type of joint.
2. The display changes to depict the selected joint type, the set values, and the
function fields used to control the device. The factory default settings are as
follows:

. Press the joint type func-
tion field for 3 seconds to Save the changed values.
Press the joint type function field only briefly to select a different type of joint.
This returns you to the joint type selection display.
5.3.2 Device Displays with Prematurely Inserted Cassette Tube Set
If a tube cassette was already inserted or if the cassette was inserted during the
device check, the touch panel depicts a prompt to remove the cassette.
1. Press once on the center of the tube cassette (15) using your finger.
2. The tube cassette emerges slightly.
3. Pull out tube set until you hear "click".
4. Reinsert once
Insert tube set is listed.
