Litter Top Removal

Required Tools:

1/2

”

 Socket w/Extension

3/8

”

 Drive Ratchet

Standard Screwdriver

Side Cutters

1. Unplug the stretcher power cord from the wall socket.
2. Using the foot pedal, pump the litter top all the way up.
3. Lift up on the base hood at the patient, left side and unplug the communication coil cord from the electrical

box.

4. Using the side cutters, cut the 3 cable ties fastening the communication coil cord to the stretcher base

frame.

5. Remove the stretcher mattress.
6. Remove the round, black hole plugs on the litter patient surface at each end to expose the jack support

tube truss head screws.

7. Using a 1/2

”

 socket, and a 3/8

”

 drive ratchet, remove the truss head screws holding the jack support tubes

to the jack shafts.

8. Pull the bellows out of the plastic base hood.
9. Insert a fine

−

thread 7/16

−

20 bolt far enough into the top of the jack supports to separate the litter top from

the jack shaft.

10. With the assistance of another person, lift the litter straight up to remove it from the jack shafts and set

it aside.
