STEP 15.
Due to the many different tractor
configurations, the ballast box requires ap-
prox. 100 to 500 lbs based on the weight of
front mounted attachments and weight of materials you
are lifting. We suggest: scrap steel plates, sm. chunks
of iron or tractor weights as they can be removed eas-
ily. Once loaded, lay the #1986 Cover on top of the Bal-
last Box as shown. Thread (4) AA Bolts into the holes,
turn in all (4) bolts loosely.

STEP 13.
Slide the #1929 channel onto the rear hitch. Once the (2) holes are lined up, slide in
(from the top) the (2) 1/2-13x4-1/2” Bolts that came with the Rear Hitch. Secure with the (2) 1/2-
13 Spin Lock Nuts that came with your Rear Hitch.
Tighten! - Skip to STEP 15.
HINT: You may need to use a punch to line up the holes or use a mallet to tap the bolts
through.

STEP 14.
Move the Ballast Box into position. Use a lifting device or some helpers to hold the
ballast box up, while another helper inserts (2) 1/2-13x1-1/2 Spin Lock Bolts that came with the
AM39 Angle Mounts (into the top holes). Make sure to insert the bolt through the Ballast box
1st, then through the angle mount brackets. Attach a 1/2” Spin Lock Nut loosely on the backside
of the angle mounts.
HINT: You may need to use a punch to line up the holes or use a mallet
to tap the bolts through.
Repeat the process for the (4) other 1/2 Spin Lock Bolts and 1/2 Spin
Lock Nuts that came with your AM39 Angle Mounts.
