In all cases, the transmission of the nominal torque to the connecting components must be checked mathemati-
cally by the operator. It must correspond to the latest technical specifications and be of the sufficient dimen-
sions.
Standard permissible voltages in mechanical engineering must be considered for the dimensioning.
2.3.3
Application limits
The application limits are defined in the technical specifications, see section 4.
2.3.4
Use in potentially explosive atmospheres
The application limits are defined in the technical specifications, see section . There is a fire or explosion risk
when operating the clutch in potentially explosive atmospheres. The clutch must not be used in potentially ex-
plosive areas.
2.4
Non-intended use
Any use other than the intended use of the clutch may lead to dangerous situations.
• Only use the clutch for its intended use in accordance with the details in this documentation, especially in
observing the application limits given in the technical specifications.
• Reconstruction, retrofitting or modification of the construction or individual equipment parts, with the aim of
changing the application range or the usability of the clutch, should be avoided.
• Use of the clutch, although during the engaging process the input and output sides have different speeds.
This may cause the toothing to slip and lead to damage when it engages.
• Use of the clutch, although the torque to be transmitted exceeds the nominal torque. This must not happen,
not even temporarily, for e.g. through switching surges, as it may cause the toothing to slip and lead to dam-
age.
• Use of the clutch, although relative movements are caused between the spur gearings. This may cause the
toothing to slip and lead to damage.
• Use of the clutch, although the mandatory air gap (when "off") between the spur gearings has not been ad-
hered to. This compromises the engagement of the clutch as the spur gearings cannot mesh.
Claims for any damage that results from non-intended use are exempted. The operator bears sole responsibility
for damage caused by non-intended use.
2.5
Standards applied
Details of other national standards are referenced within the documentation. This applies especially to the as-
sembly. DIN standards can be purchased from DIN Deutsches Institut für Normung e. V. (the German Institute
for Standardization),

2.6
Possible residual risks
Residual risks are particular dangers that cannot be eliminated when using the clutch, despite its safety-orienta-
ted construction.
Residual risks are not obviously recognisable and could be the source of a possible injury or health risk.
Special reference is made to possible residual risks in the following.
