6 MAINTENANCE

This chapter describes various maintenance tasks that will routinely need to be performed on 

the Origin One printer.

Overview

Origin One was designed to reduce the need for frequent maintenance or replacement of 

consumables. This section will help you to identify and plan for situations where a printer may 

require operator-performed maintenance.

Cleaning

Cleaning the Mid Plate Glass Window

Frequency

Check before every print

Required Tools 

Nitrile gloves
Single-use, lint free wipe
Acetone

Procedure

1. Fold a single-use, lint-free wipe (such as a Kimtech wipe).
2. Soak the single-use wipe liberally in acetone.
3. Draw the wipe lightly across the surface of the glass, taking care not to apply any pressure.
4. Dispose of the single-use wipe.
5. Repeat steps 1-4 until the entire glass surface is wiped, ensuring that no smudges or 

residue remains.

Warning: Skin contact hazard

Prolonged contact with solvents can cause skin irritation. Do not continue before 

putting on protective gloves.
