IPT20X0 and IPT2008 Update
Important! Complete all “Prerequisites” on page B-1 before you do the following.
From the Network eManager PC
Copy the DIPXXXX update file to the SM/SD card PROGRAM folder (XXXX is the IP Telephone
firmware version level).
From the Network eManager PC perform the update
Important! The MIPU/GIPU/LIPUs and IP telephones will automatically be disabled while Update takes
place and return to the idle state when Update is completed.
1. Select Maintenance > SM/SD Card . Verify that the DIPXXXX file is stored on the SM card under the
PROGRAM directory.
2. Select Maintenance > IP Firmware Update > IPT_L/M/G Update
3. Select Cab / Slot of the LIPU that controls the telephones to be updated.
4. In IPT PDN field highlight the PDN(s) to be updated.
5. Click the Select IPT(s ) button.
6. In the FTP Server Information section:
a. Select the SM/SD Media Card.
b. The User Name, Password, IP Address, and Data Directory will automatically populate with the
correct information.
c. Use the File Name drop down to select the file for the IPT type (20X0 or 2008).
d. Click Start .
e. The telephone will automatically disable and you will observe the update status: Getting Updated
file\Updating\Finished Updating\Resetting\idle.
f. After the upgrade is successful, the telephone will reset and be available for use.
Note It can take 30 seconds to 2 minutes to update the IP telephone. If an error occurs, recheck file
names, locations etc. and try again

Select IP-Telephony > IPT Data , field 09 to check the IP telephone version number to verify that all IP
telephones have been updated properly.
To check the IP telephone firmware version directly from an IPT20X0 telephone
1. Simultaneously press 369Hold buttons on the IPT20X0 Telephone.
2. At the SELECT = prompt, press 1 then press Hold .
3. At the Select function key prompt, press FB01, the IP telephone information will be displayed.
To check the IP telephone firmware version directly from an IPT2008 telephone
1. Simultaneously press 369Hold buttons on the IP Telephone.
2. Select: “Term Info”
3. The IP telephone information will be displayed
Note The Network eManager PC cannot be connected directly to the CIX processor network jack. All
connections must be through the network.
