WARNINGS
The following warnings relate to commissioning, use, earthing, maintenance and repairs of the device. The exclama-
tion marks and danger pictograms point to warnings which you must read and observe. If you see these pictograms in
the main part of this manual, please read these warnings again.
EARTH
This product must be earthed. In the event of an electrical short circuit, earthing reduces the risk of electric
shock. The mains connection cable is equipped with an earthing contact. The mains plug must be plugged
into an outlet that is properly installed and earthed in accordance with all applicable local laws and regulati-
ons.
•
Improper installation of the earthing plug can result in a risk of electric shock.
•
If repair or replacement of the connecting cable or plug is required, never connect the earthing cable to one of the
plug pins.
•
The wire with green insulation (with or without yellow stripes) is the earthing conductor.
•
If you do not completely understand the earthing instructions, or if you are in any doubt as to whether the device is
properly earthed, please contact a qualified electrician or a STORCH service centre.
•
Do not modify the plug provided; if it does not fit the outlet, have the proper outlet installed by a qualified electri-
cian.
•
This product is intended for use with a 230 V circuit and is equipped with an earthing plug similar to the one illus-
trated in the figure below.
•
Only connect the product to a corresponding outlet.
•
Do not connect the product via a power supply unit.
•
Do not use any adapters.
Extension cable
•
Only use a 3-wire extension cable that has a 3-blade earthing plug and a 3-slot receptacle that accepts the plug on
the product.
•
Make sure the extension cable is not damaged. If an extension cable is necessary, use a 12 AWG (2.5 mm2) cable
at the very least to ensure the current required by the product.
•
An undersized cable results in a drop in line voltage and loss of power and overheating.
Power requirements
•
230 V units require 230 V AC, 50/60 Hz, 10 A, 1 phase.
FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD
Flammable fumes, such as solvent and paint fumes, in work area can ignite or explode. To help prevent fire and explo-
sion:
• Do not spray flammable or combustible materials near an open flame or sources of ignition such as ciga-
rettes, motors, and electrical equipment.
• Paints and solvents flowing through the system can cause static charges. Static electricity creates a risk
of fire or explosion in combination with paint or solvent fumes. All parts of the spray system, including
the pump, hose assembly, spray gun, and objects in and around the spray area must be properly earthed
to protect against static discharge and sparks. Only use conductive or earthed high-pressure airless hoses
from STORCH.
• Make sure that all material containers are earthed in order to prevent static discharge.
• Connect to an earthed outlet and use an earthed extension cable. Do not use a plug adapter without an
earthing contact.
