Library-to-CSE Port
The CSE port also provides a command line interface to the MPC card, allowing
you to clear (purge) the FSC log and run diagnostic tests through a laptop. In
addition, you may use this interface to download microcode to the library. This
interface is through an RJ45 connection.
Note: The baud rate for the CSE port is 38,400.
CAUTION:
System Interruption: Be sure that the library and drives are offline before
using this interface. It is a direct, command line interface and will take
the library offline without posting a warning message.

Other Interfaces
The library features three additional interfaces:
• An operator panel that communicates library status, configuration,
diagnostic sequences, and fault symptom code (FSC) information. The
operator panel provides menus for running diagnostic tests and for
examining the 20 most recent library FSCs. The FSC information will help
you troubleshoot should a component fail.
• A SER1 port that communicates the same operator panel information (in the
previous paragraph) to a remote laptop device or through a serial modem
connection. This interface is through an RJ45 connection. You may run
diagnostic tests on the library through this port; however, please note that
the library will go offline (that is, stop communicating with the client)
without warning once the tests begin. This connection operates at
38400 bps.
• A CSE port that includes the same functionality as the SER1 port but also lets
you download microcode to the library. This connection currently operates
at 38,400 bps while running
