More about MC6 and AS6?
The following chapters summarize the key relationships regarding the MC6 motion controller,
AS6 AutomationControlSuite and EtherCAT.
10.1
Important information about the MC6
10.1.1
Status LEDs
You can activate the S0 and S1 LEDs of the MC6 in order to display user-defined system
statuses. To do so, you need the device description file STOEBER_MC6_LEDS.devdesc.xml.
The MC6xx5 version does not support this function.
Information
If you use a program to activate the LEDs, the status of the CANopen interface will no longer be
displayed by the LEDs. However, this in no way impairs the CANopen functionality, which
remains usable to the full extent.
Upon request, you will receive an example project from STOBER that demonstrates exactly how
it functions.
10.1.2
Resolution of the monitor display
The resolution of the touch panel is set optimally in the MC6x1 and MC6x2 versions.
Touch panels from third-party manufacturers may need the resolution to be adjusted. You can
get to the display menu by right-clicking on the desktop. Under the
Display Properties
menu
item, you can set a maximum resolution of 1680 × 1050.
Please note that increasing the resolution may turn off clone operation (for 2 screen outputs) as
the resolution may not be supported by both graphics units. The display configuration is set to
sdvob (Single) by default.
Information
Keep in mind that increasing the resolution creates a significantly higher load for VISU
calculation. Weigh the advantages of a higher resolution display against the disadvantages of
the increased computing load for your system.
