SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS
La unidad no enciende, no hay voltaje evidente en la rejilla
• Asegúrese que la unidad esté conectada en un tomacorriente operacional.
La unidad hace un leve zumbido cuando está conectada
• Esto es debido a los niveles de humedad relativa y es normal. Esto no afectará el desempeño.
La unidad no enciende, la rejilla tiene voltaje.
• Revise la bombilla para asegurarse que esté bien colocada. Cambie la bombilla si es necesario.
La unidad no se enciende durante el día
•
Revise el Sensor de Anochecer, el cual puede estar activado y sólo permite que la unidad opere durante la noche.

La unidad está formando constantemente arcos eléctricos (chispas)
•
Limpie la unidad según las instrucciones en este manual. La unidad formará arcos eléctricos al ser conectada y luego se estabilizará. Esto es normal.
La unidad parece estar operando adecuadamente pero la población de insectos no disminuye
•
Revise los alrededores para saber si hay agua estancada, los insectos se reproducen en estas áreas y deben ser eliminados desde la fuente de origen.
• Permita que pase más tiempo. A algunos insectos les tomará cierto tiempo para encontrar la unidad y también para impartar en su ciclo de reproducción.
• Intente mover la unidad a otra área del patio. Si usted se encuentra entre la unidad y la fuente de origen de los insectos, ellos tendrán que pasar
por donde usted está para llegar a la unidad y notará un aumento de insectos.

CAMBIO DE BOMBILLAS

Sólo use la bombilla de reemplazo Tipo A de Stinger
. Las bombillas deben ser cambiadas cada año para mantener eficacia UV óptima. Aunque la luz de la bombilla
pueda ser visible para usted, su capacidad para atraer insectos disminuye con el tiempo. Si la bombilla no enciende o el color de la luz cambia de amarillo a naranja es
tiempo de cambiar la bombilla.

INSTALACIÓN DEL SEÑUELO PARA MOSQUITOS NOSQUITO
®
LIMPIEZA
A medida que la unidad mata a los insectos, la mayoría de sus restos serán vaporizados o caerán a través de la unidad. Algunos desechos pueden permanecer en la
rejilla exterminadora o pueden acumularse en la base de la unidad. Esto puede reducir la eficacia del dispositivo. Revise frecuentemente su aparato y limpie la unidad
con regularidad. El tiempo entre cada limpieza puede variar dependiendo de la población de insectos.
1.
Desconecte y retire la unidad de su posición colgante.
2.
Saque la bombilla de la unidad para evitar daño (vea las instrucciones).
3.
Usando un cepillo pequeño o un palo, quite cuidadosamente cualquier resto de insectos de la bombilla y del recinto.
4.
Si cuenta con aire comprimido, puede usarlo para limpiar la unidad.
5.
Nunca use agua para limpiar la unidad. El agua puede dañar los componentes eléctricos.
6.
Tenga mucho cuidado de no mover o ajustar la rejilla exterminadora de metal o de hacer contacto de ninguna manera con el tubo de cristal.
7.
Una vez que la unidad esté limpia coloque la bombilla, vuelva a colgar la unidad y conéctela a la fuente de energía.
Un señuelo de octanol NOsquito de Stinger (NS16) está incluido con esta unidad. Las investigaciones muestran que el octanol es eficaz
en atraer muchas especies de mosquitos y moscas. Este señuelo tiene propiedades de liberación lenta y aumenta la eficacia en atraer
mosquitos/moscas a la unidad. Para mejores resultados, cambie el señuelo cada 30 días.

Abra el señuelo retirando la cubierta de aluminio.
2.
Todos los modelos de las series BK tienen un sujetador especialmente diseñado integrado en la base. Simplemente deslice el señuelo
en el sujetador con el lado expuesto con octanol apuntando hacia el dispositivo
(Figura 5)
. El señuelo debe entrar ajustadamente y las
lengüetas de tensión deben mantenerlo seguro en su lugar.

Para quitar – coloque el pulgar en el hueco y deslice el señuelo hacia afuera. Deseche adecuadamente en un bote de basura.

Desconecte y desmonte la unidad de la posición colgante.
2.
Voltee la unidad boca abajo.
NO DEJE DE SUJETAR LA UNIDAD SI LA COLOCA SOBRE UNA SUPERFICIE. No se sostendrá por si sola.
3.
Use su pulgar para presionar la lengüeta y abrir la tapa de la bombilla.
4.
Jale hacia arriba para sacar la bombilla vieja.
5.
Inserte la bombilla nueva asegurándose que esté bien colocada en el portabombillas.
6.
Cierre la tapa de la bombilla encajándola de vuelta en su lugar.
7.
Coloque la unidad de vuelta en su posición colgante y conéctela al cable de extensión.
Nota:
Si la unidad no enciende después de cambiar la bombilla, baje la unidad, quite la bombilla y vuélvala a acomodar en el portabombillas

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Please read these instructions before using the Stinger Electric Insect Killer and keep for future reference.
1.
This product is equipped with a 2-prong plug to fit the proper type receptacles.
To reduce the risk of electrical shock, only plug into a properly installed outlet.
2.
Do not
insert fingers or any foreign objects into the unit while it is connected to an electrical outlet.
3.
Collected insects within the unit may contribute to fire. Clean dead insects from the unit frequently.
4.
Do not
clean this product with water, spray or any other liquids.
Do not
place where it can fall into water, or near flammable materials.
5.
For outdoor residential use only.
6.
Store product indoors when not in use – out of reach of children.
7.
Always disconnect plug before servicing, cleaning, changing bulbs and when not in use.
8.
Do not
abuse cord – never carry unit by cord. Unplug unit by pulling on the plug - not the cord. Keep cord away from heat, oil, or sharp edges.
9.
Extension cords used with this product must be marked with suffix letters “W-A” and with a tag stating “Suitable for Use with Outdoor Appliances”.
10.
Use only extension cords that have plug and receptacles that match the product plug. Replace or repair damaged cords.
11.
Electrical rating of the extension cord must be as great as the electrical rating of the product.
12.
There are devices available for retaining a connection between an extension cord and a power supply cord.
Connections should be kept off the ground and dry.
13.
Do not
mount the unit on house, other buildings, on decks or near heat, gas, oil or other flammable materials.
The Stinger 5-in-1 Mosquito Kill System Insect Killer is uniquely designed to attract and kill a wide range of
flying insects, including mosquitoes. Breakthrough technology uses light cycling, heat and scent for optimum
results. The BK500 Series models
kill 2X more mosquitoes
than other Stinger Insect Killers. How it works
is the black ultraviolet (UV) light attracts light sensitive flying insects from a distance and lures them to the
device. While the bright light attracts insects from a distance it may actually repel mosquitoes at close
range. When the device is in Mosquito Mode, the black UV light cycles off, changing the light patterns at
predetermined and proven effective intervals to specifically attract biting mosquitoes in close proximity. The
green LED lights remain on continuing to provide light attraction for mosquitoes. The thermal lure and the
NOsquito
®
octenol lure provide additional attraction for flying insects by simulating human breath and body
heat. Finally, the single kill grid is designed to more effectively kill small nuisance insects and reduce clogging.
CHOOSING A LOCATION
(Figure 1)
When selecting a location, please remember that insects will be lured to the unit. Place the unit about 25 feet away
from the area intended for human activity. Position the insect killer between the source of insects (woods, water supply,
lowlands, etc.) and the area to be protected. The BK500 Series models will effectively cover a 1 acre area

INSTALLATION/OPERATION
1.
Unpack unit, save all packaging material for off-season storage.
DO NOT REST THE UNIT ON SURFACE WITHOUT CONTINUING
TO SUPPORT IT. It will not stand on its own.
2.
Select the proper location to hang the unit using the using the guidelines listed above.
Use the bonus cord included in the box to hang the unit.
3.
Hang the unit approximately 7 feet above the ground from a tree, mounting pole or other free standing object.
Never mount or hang the unit from a house or other building.
4.
Plug the cord into a compatible extension cord rated for outdoor use.
5.
The BK500 Series models have 2 time settings – 24 Hour Operation and
Dusk to Dawn Operation.
a.
To select 24 Hour Operation, slide the large gray button on the cap down so that it covers the
Sundown Sensor. The unit will remain on 24 hours a day
(Figure 2)
.
b.
To select
Dusk to Dawn Operation, slide the large gray button up, revealing the Sundown Sensor.
The button will align with the
marking
(Figure 3)
. The unit will automatically turn ON at dusk,
operate through the night and turn OFF in the morning, saving energy by operating only when insects are most active.
6.
The BK500 Series models have the advanced option of Mosquito Kill Mode. To set in Mosquito Mode slide the smaller gray button
up so that it is aligned with the
marking
(Figure 4)
. Setting the unit in Mosquito Mode will activate the interval light
cycling to increase the mosquito kill.
7.
See INSTALLING THE NOSQUITO MOSQUITO LURE section. Using the lure will add to the effectiveness of the unit by adding
scent proven to attract more mosquitoes and biting flies to the unit.
8.
It is recommended that this unit be put to use in early spring and left out until late fall to maximize effects.
9.
The unit is designed to withstand moderate rain but should be taken down and stored indoors during severe weather.
