Driving

Driving safety instructions

Driving conduct

The driver must follow the public rules of the

road when driving in company traffic. The

speed must be appropriate to the local con-

ditions. For example, the driver must drive

slowly around corners, in tight passageways,

when driving through swing-doors, at blind

spots, or on uneven surfaces. The driver must

always maintain a safe braking distance from

vehicles and persons in front and always have

the vehicle under control. He must avoid stop-

ping suddenly, turning at speed and overtak-

ing in dangerous places or in blind spots.
Other people must not sit on the truck during

travel.

Visibility when driving

The driver must look in the direction of travel

and have a clear view of the route travelled on.

He must always ensure that the way is clear,

particularly when reversing. When transport-

ing goods that obstruct visibility, the truck

must be driven with the load trailing. If this is

not possible, a guide must walk ahead of the

truck. In this case, the truck may only be driven

at walking pace and with the utmost caution.

The truck must be stopped immediately when

eye contact with the guide is lost.
