5.3 Setting the columns
5.3.1 Operating system
1. Link the columns - see 5.2.2 "Starting and identification" on page 34 .
2. All system functions are now available (the default is <ALL> all columns):
- button 3 = all columns will be raised,
- button 4 = all columns will be lowered into the safeguard,
- buttons 6 and 4 = all columns will be lowered.
5.3.2 Pair operation

Setting to the pair operation (only possible when you have an even number of
columns):
1. Select the columns at one axle to set this function (for example, the front wheel axle).
2. Press the <SELECT> button until the <PAIR> light starts to flash.
Next, select the other column of "the pair".
3. Go to the other column of "the pair" and press <SELECT> until the <PAIR> light is
continuously lit. Now "the pair" has been selected.
4. Press button 3 to raise "the pair" of columns.
Press button 4 to lower "the pair" of columns.

An acoustic signal will be emitted when “PAIR” UP and DOWN are operational,
because this is an unusual situation.
When setting up pair operation, the last two remaining columns will automatically be
defined as a pair. This means:
Set of 4: select 1 pair and the remaining columns automatically become a pair.
Set of 6: select 2 pairs and the remaining columns automatically become a pair.
Set of 8: select 3 pairs and the remaining columns automatically become a pair.
5.3.3 Operation of a single column
1. Press <SELECT> until the <SINGLE> light has been activated.
2. Press button 3 to raise the single column or press button 4 to lower the single
column.
