Safety measures

Operation & maintenance instructions (Version H)

 SKY-200/250

• Maintain the periodic inspection and maintenance records recommended 

by the manufacturer or ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2008, American National Standard 
for Automotive Lifts-Safety Requirements for Inspection and Maintenance; 
and the employer shall ensure that lift inspectors are qualified and that they 
are adequately trained in the inspection of the lift.

• Display the lift manufacturers operating instructions; ALI/SM 01-1, ALI 

Lifting it Right safety manual; ALI/ST-90, ALI Safety Tips card; ANSI/ALI 
ALOIM-2008, American National Standard for Automotive Lifts-Safety 
Requirements for Operation Inspection and Maintenance; in a conspicuous 
location in the lift area convenient to the operator.

• Provide necessary lockout/tagout means for energy sources per ANSI 

Z244.1-1982 (R1993), Safety Requirements for the Lockout/Tagout of 
Energy Sources, before beginning any lift repairs.

• Not modify the lift in any manner without the prior written consent of the 

manufacturer.

2.5

Safety measures

2.5.1

Emergency stop

The main switch, on the right in the control panel, should also be used as an 
emergency stop switch. In the event of a dangerous situation, stop the vehicle lift by 
using this switch.

After the emergency stop has been used, check:

• If anybody needs to be freed.

• If the vehicle lift is damaged.

2.5.2

Protection

The vehicle lift is fitted with a control system, which ensures that: 

• Both tracks remain the same height.

• Lifting stops as soon as the lift is overloaded: lift-stop function.

• Lowering stops in case of height differences caused by obstacles underneath 

tracks.

• The control current is switched off when the height difference between the two 

tracks reaches a pre-determined value; then, operation by means of the push 
buttons on the control box of the vehicle lift is no longer possible.

• Lifting stops when the highest position has been reached.
