4.1.2 Optional Automated
Leak Test Assembly
The automated leak test feature offered on the Reliance
™
EPS
Processor is a means to inspect endoscopes for leaks prior to
processing. The automated leak test feature allows the operator to
verify damage did not occur during the cleaning process after the
required manual leak test.
The leak test feature is also used to confirm no endoscopes are
connected during Reliance decontamination cycles (D-SHORT and
D-LONG cycles). An alarm and abort of the cycle is initiated at the
beginning of the decontamination cycle if the Reliance EPS
Processor detects an endoscope attached to the processor.
After the automated leak test is completed, a minimum pressure is
maintained in the connected endoscopes during the cycle.
In the event that the automated leak test fails, an alarm is triggered
(Fault 52 or Fault 53) and the cycle is aborted. No pressure is
maintained in the connected endoscopes.
