8. The instrument is now loaded. Proceed with loading other types of instrument, and
then basket docking.
IMPORTANT
Basket loading MUST NOT exceed 10 kg (22 lb). If the basket is excessively
loaded, transfer the excess instrument load to additional baskets, or set aside
for the next processing cycle.
6.4.3 Standard Basket — Unloading
IMPORTANT
Before unloading instruments, inspect the basket for any hoses or connectors
that may have detached from instruments. A detached hose or connector
during the wash cycle can result in an instrument that may NOT have been
cleaned or disinfected satisfactorily.
Any instruments where a hose or connector may have detached
should be reprocessed.
For any cannulated (lumened) instruments, it is recommended luer hoses and
connectors are removed one at a time and inspected before accepting an
instrument as processed.
1. Before unloading instruments, visually inspect the loaded basket. If any luer hose
appears constricted, cleaning may have been compromised and connected
instrument should be reprocessed.
2. Push the release tab on the basket flush port to
release the luer hose. Pull the luer hose to
disconnect it from the basket flush port.
