Changing of the DIP switch settings ("LF" and "LI") is also permissible in Zone 2 during
operation and with connected intrinsically safe input signals.
10 Operation
10.1 Operation
The device "binary output" is intended for intrinsically safe operation of solenoid valves,
LED indicator lamps, etc. Always observe the characteristic values of the valves when
activating the solenoid valves. An active line fault detection may prevent the solenoid
valve from dropping out.
10.2 Indications
The corresponding LEDs on the device indicate the operating conditions of the device
and the line fault states (also refer to chapter "Function and Device Design").
NOTICE
Solenoid valve malfunction due to incorrect parameterization!
Non-compliance may lead to material damage!
• Check the active line fault detection (LF) and deactivate it if it is the reason
why the solenoid valves cannot be disconnected.
• Check and adhere to the characteristic values of the solenoid valve,
including the holding current and monitoring circuit.
• Refer to the "Technical Data" chapter for the values of the line fault
detection in the Ex i output.
• Examples of Ex i solenoid valves that can be connected are specified at
www.stahl-ex.com.
