Mini Phone Tracker
Quick Start Guide
There is a detailed user manual in the box, however this
is a quick start guide to get your tracker up and running
as quickly as possible.
First of all…
Activate the preinstalled Giffgaff O2 PAYG sim. Inside
the box there is a plastic sim card with a 6 character code.
Go to
giffgaff.com
& click
‘Activate a SIM’
& enter
this code. Initial top up is £10 for which you will get an
extra £5 free from giffgaff. You don’t need to sign up for
any monthly goody bags; just scroll to the bottom & buy
the minimum £10 top up SIM credit.
After activation go to your giffgaff account home page
where you will find your tracker’s phone number.
Giffgaff will also email you this phone number.
Next…
Download the app – search for
smart-tracking
in the
Apple App Store for iOS or Google Play for Android or
use the QR codes below.
Now switch the unit on
To do this press & hold the grey power button on the
side that has an icon of a telephone on it. It should buzz
slightly and the green & blue lights either side will come
on.
The very first time you switch it on, it’s best to go outside
in order to establish a GPS satellite connection easier.
The green light (phone signal) should start to flash twice
quickly every few seconds and the blue light (GPS)
should flash once intermittently.
Now set an admin number
so that the device can call
you via its SOS button or can reply with confirmations to
any text commands you may send it.
To do this send the following text exactly as it’s written
from your
own mobile phone
to the Giffgaff sim
phone number which you will have just received from
Giffgaff when you activated the sim.
NB – please ensure you include the comma
A1,xxxxxxxxxxx
(where the x’s are your own mobile phone number – just
like the following pic)
USING YOUR TRACKER
Your device will go into live tracking mode whenever it
is physically moved. This is the most convenient and
popular setting as you can see your tracker on the map in
the app in real time whenever it’s moving - please see the
detailed user manual for other possible standby settings.
