Rotary switch
Rotary switch B
is used to switch the gearbox to another transport mode.
Switching gears is only possible on a running diesel engine.
The choice of acceleration is determined by the software of the gearbox, taking into account the actual
speed (standstill or moving) and to which gear must be switched.
The choice, which is made by the electric system, is shown on the
display gearbox

Rotary switch on position N: neutral
Use this position to enable the gearbox to
neutral
:
In the
neutral position
there is no acceleration enabled;
When switched from
D
or
R
to
N,
the gearbox always responds immediately:
-
The
neutral position
has the highest priority.
Rotary switch on position D: forward / drive
Use this position to switch the gearbox to
forward / drive
:
When switched from
N
to
D
, the gearbox will choose a suitable acceleration (if the diesel engine
is running at idle speed or the vehicle is moving);
When switched from
R(M) to
D
, the gearbox will only switch if the diesel engine is running and
the vehicle is not moving. When the vehicle is moving, then the gearbox will switch to
N
;
After starting the diesel engine, it will run at idle speed. The electrical system chooses and
switches to a suitable acceleration to drive away;
After switching to
D
on a moving vehicle, the electrical system will choose a gear, which matches
the current speed.
CAUTION!
The position of the rotary switch and the actual enabled position of the gearbox
may differ from each other!
The position which is shown on the
display gearbox
is leading!
CAUTION!
The engine brake becomes inactive when driving there is a switch to the
neutral position (N).
If the diesel engine fails (e.g. lack of fuel), there may not be switched.
The gearbox automatically returns to the
neutral position
(N).
The engine brake and the steering pump will also fail in this situation.
